Project Details

Emerald Construction built the first Fisher House at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Hospital, when it came time for their expansion and the addition of a second house we were selected to partner with The Fisher House Foundation. The second home totaled roughly 15,000 sf and added an additional 21 beds to the capacity for the Richmond location. This two-story wood framed building included an elevator, kitchen, dining room, and common areas.

Emerald Construction has been a proud construction partner with the Fisher House for over a decade. We had the privilege of working with their team in West Virginia for a new home at the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington. The Fisher House Foundation provides free lodging to the families of veterans who are receiving care at the VA Hospital. The home totals roughly 15,000 sf and includes 20 bedrooms, large kitchen, dining areas and community spaces for the families.
