This historical project involved the renovation of the Civil War era building art gallery PAAL called home. Emerald provided complimentary budgets for PAAL for over a year to assist the team in getting the budget affordable for the renovation. VSU and The Cameron Foundation, a non-profit, both contributed to the efforts. Phase I and II were able to be finished: an elevator was installed, the upstairs was made into classrooms, the structure was stabilized, the downstairs was renovated, and a garden area was designed, all while keeping the historic integrity of the building...and we were able to give a little money back to PAAL!
Advantages for PAAL: Once a client, always a client! Emerald partnered with PAAL and offered numerous budgets and constructability ideas for over a year to get this group the gallery and classrooms/upgrades they had desired for years. After the preconstruction process, Emerald renovated the historical structure, meeting the schedule, and coming in under budget.
